Revillage is India’s first residential community spread on 60 acres of fertile farmland with thousands of mature lemon trees next to a 32-kilometer square rain harvested lake. We strongly aim at streamlining nature so that the homeowners can live completely off the grid. Our community has the motto of living big in a tiny earth ship home and attaining a waste-free life in harmony with nature. At Revillage, we offer plots to build your own earth ship or buy a readymade Earthship built by us. All the homes at Revillage follow and exceed earth ship compliances for addressing global warming and to live a waste-free independent life powered by nature.
APPROACH TO DESIGN:
Revillage is designed to be a net-zero energy township which means that the total amount of energy used by the township on an annual basis is equal to the amount of renewable energy created on the site. We come in here with our net-zero energy township that doesn’t create any type of pollution and at the same time harness and recycle energy generated from renewable sources. Revillage is designed to reduce energy consumption when compared to energy consumption in the cities.
TOWNSHIP BUILT TO IMPROVE THE STANDARD OF LIVING:
At Revillage, we streamline and harness nature to harvest electricity, water, food and also treat wastewater for a carbon-neutral off-grid lifestyle in the heart of nature, far away from pollution. Revillage community is designed and built based on the grid principles so that all the homeowners can live an independent life in an earth ship without paying any electric bills, water bills, or food bills.
The important factors that human needs are good quality air because lungs are composed of 83% water, good quality water, uncontaminated soil so that we can grow organic food. We provide everyone with spring water that has a high intensity of minerals and therefore it’s really good for health. The quality of spring water in our main spring well is simply the best from nature.
In Revillage, out of the 80-acre land, 60 acres is being used exclusively for farming so that residents can consume fresh, organic produce all year round. We grow about 50 varieties of organic vegetables, grains, herbs, and groundnuts for oil at our farm to sustain life and reduce food emissions. We provide the best products for our residents to increase the standard of living. Owners will live in a home powered by a renewable source of energy. At Revillage, homeowners wouldn’t have pay for the bills and the off-grid homes don’t contribute towards earth’s pollution, therefore the township improves the living standard of life.
ECONOMIC SUSTAINABILITY:
Revillage is economically sustainable since the fraction of the revenue generated from the homes will be used to pay for the security around the community, maintaining the landscape, solar panels, and the water treatment system. The homeowners won’t have to pay for the maintenance of any systems in and around the houses. Solar systems in all homes come with a warranty of 10years for generator and 20years for the solar panels and the complete maintenance is guaranteed by us.
SOCIAL SUSTAINABILITY:
Revillage has been designed and built keeping this in mind by making all the homeowners can use unlimited common amenities without worrying about service or maintenance fees. Homeowners can use the common amenities like swimming pool, gym, yoga, tennis court except for spa without paying any extra charge. Only the facilities offered at the spa or learning yoga with a private teacher will have to be paid for. Residents don’t have to worry about any sort of payment while using the public facilities therefore Revillage attains social sustainability.
ENVIRONMENTALLY SUSTAINABLE:
Revillage has been designed using a renewable source of nature. At Revillage, we have 100% dependence on renewable sources of energy and are 100% independent of the grid or outside water supply. We take measures to make sure our surroundings don't get polluted with the use of gray water recycler, in-house farming using modern technique, and renewable, non-polluting sources of energy and at the same time, we use solar panels, gray water recycler, and natural spring water to be self-sustainable. We don’t use any kind of non-renewable source of energy like fossil fuels or coal.
At Revillage, we make sure that the underground and natural sources of water don't get exploited or wasted as each home has a gray water recycler and we encourage everyone to use water wisely. Revillage is located next to 32 sq. km of the rain-harvested lake and is surrounded by lush, green nature and wildlife. The homes at Revillage are built keeping the principles of Permaculture in mind. We have 40 acres of the farming area where we grow organic food without pesticides.
PANDEMIC RESILIENT:
All the nations and its citizens are shocked by this sudden pandemic - Covid 19, which calls for the development of health care facilities and better management of such events by the government as well as every individual.
The best way one can save themselves and their families from such pandemics in the future are by living in a place that off-grid and secluded from the rest of the world. Any society, community, or township qualifies as a pandemic safe place only if it can sustain the homeowners and caretakers without the need to be connected to the government supply chains. This means that a community that can produce electricity, have its own water supply, enough for all residents, and grow its own food is a pandemic resilient community.
When you live at Revillage, you have access to all these elements. You won't have to go outside for resources, residents can grow food in their own gardens or get the food that is grown on the 40-acre farm surrounding the property. The solar panels produce enough electricity to power the individual homes and therefore the homes don't need to be connected from the power supply chain.
The water supply comes from the 32 square kilometer lake next to revillage and each home is also fitted with a rainwater harvesting system that can save about 1,20,000 liters of water in 1 BHK home every year and about 1,82,250 liters in the 2BHK homes.
Average rainfall in Ahmedabad, Morbi: 750mm
Source: climate-data.org
Rainwater harvesting = rainfall (mm) × roof surface area (m²)
Small home: 750×162 = 1,21,500 litres
Large home: 750×243 = 1,82,250 litres
Water storage Tank capacity:
Small home: 2400 liters
Big home: 4800 liters
Solar panel Capacity:
Small home: 8.3kW per day
Large home: 14.3 kW per day
Total electricity generated is 249 and 429 kW per month respectively.
If we consider 30% energy loss, then electricity generated is 174.3 and 300.3 kW respectively and all this electricity is free.
Return on Investment (ROI):
The most important factor people look for when purchasing a home is what are the things the house will provide its owners in the run long.
The homes at Revillage are 100% self-sustainable. The homes provide homeowners with free electricity, water, and food for the rest of their lives. The water in the homes comes from the 32 sq kilometer lake nearby as well as from rainwater harvesting systems installed in all the homes. The electricity is generated by solar panels which give free, clean energy forever, and the homeowners can grow organic and fresh.
food items in their garden. So the homeowners don't have to pay for food, water, or electricity and at the same time, the home is generating all this for free for consumption so the residents have a double benefit. And at the same time, the residents can enjoy amenities like fishing, yoga classes, and gym for free as the money for these services and their Maintenance will be generated by organizing art retreats in homes that we will not be selling.
